THE GOOD GUYS ALWAYS WIN!!!

News just in! At the June 2006 grading at Hendra College, we arrived on the Saturday morning to find someone had broken in to the refrigration van and had destroyed all the pies waiting to be distributed that day as part of annual pie drive. Lots of people went home sad without their yummy pies. The great news is, that terrible person has been caught in realtion to another offence and confessed to desroying the pies. It shows that you can't get away with anything.

YUN HAP TOURNAMENT

The last tournament for the year is coming up. This year it will be held at Morayfield and will consist of sparring, poomsae and jump front kick. It will be held on the 2nd of November but all entries need to be in by the 21st of October. We look forward to seeing you there!

It's back on again this year but at a different location. This year we are off to Coolum Beach. Come along and have a great time training on the beach and having fun with everyone. Check out the flyer for more details or talk to your instructor.

NATIONALS

A team of 18 from Yun Hap recnetly went to Sydney to compete in the 2008 Australian National Titles. It was a great tournament with excellent success acheived by all. Overall Yun Hap came home with 15 medallist with 6 National Champions.

SEPTEMBER GRADING

Only a few came out for the recent grading, but this did not deter away for the quality of technique shown by those in attendance. December looks like it might be a big day already and no doubt a hot one.

QUEENSLAND SELECTIONS

Yun Hap performed extremely well at the recent Qld Selections tournament and qualified even more competitors for the Nationals in Sydney at the start of September. Congratulations to all medal winners. Special mention goes to Megan Penny for winning the Wayne Brown Memorial Trophy for the highest individual individual traditional poomsae score over the the two selections tournaments. In a fantastic revolution of taekwondo the World Taekwondo Federation in partnership with other taekwondo unions around the world have created an online video network of the major taekwondo competitions around the world. You can now hop online and view a world class fight from tournaments such as the World Juniors and the Olympic Qualification tournaments. Check it out it is a must.

JUNE GRADING

It was a great turn out by all for the second grading of the year with some tremendous skill on show. Thursday night saw a huge showing of white and yellow belts all the way through to Saturday which saw some great black belt and dan gradings. Congratulations to all students that gradred over the weekend.

CABOOLTURE OPEN

A good day was had by all at the annual Caboolture Open. Once again Yun Hap did well even though we lost a few fights through injury. A total of17 medals was won on the day, well done to all that competed.

What another fantastic tournament, with some great results from all of our competitors. Yun Hap bought home a total of 9 Gold, 10 Silver and 3 Bronze.

TAEKWONDO IN THE SOLOMONS

Malcolm Tweedie, one of Yun Hap black belts is currently overseas in the Solomon Islands for work. In his spare time he couldn't help but do some taekwondo, so he has started to train with the locals and has sent through some photos to share with you.

ELECTRONIC PROTECTORS

As many of you may know, Taekwondo is looking into electronic protectors that automatically score legal kicks through the use of pressure monitors in the chest and head guards. The WTF has officially now recognised LaJUST as a company for use of electronic protectors. Below is links to the copmapnys website that show and describe how the system works and also some YouTube videos of demostrations of competition sparring that utilises the elctronic scoring system
