2008 AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL TITLES
Thursday
With most people arriving the day before, most of us headed out to Homebush (home of the 2000 Olympics) for the first day of competition. Today was Poomsae and saw a quite a few people competing. The day started with a lovely train ride and short walk to the venue to find out that one Scott Edwards had not only left his belt back at the accommodation but also his TA Card, meaning he had to use his school ID card (pictured below). Scott sufferred for this and eventually all was good after Bruce (his dad) endured the train ride back to collect his belt. There was some close results with Megan Penny only missing out by a few thousandths of a point for Gold in her division.
It was a long day but saw some great results and showed the effects of the hard training that we had put in, but also showed us for much more we will need to improve in order to see an Australian selection in the near future.

Saturday
The final day had arrived and saw the big guns come out to play. It turned out to be a huge day with our last fight not happening till past 6pm with many fights still going after then. Our players learnt alot from today by watching other athletes and by also competing against some very strong and experienced competitors. Unfortunately you can't win them all but you definitely will learn from it. Hopefully our athletes will develop for next year to come back wiser, smarter and stronger, and hopefully bring back the those Gold medals.
